Lisa + Lotta = LiseLotte
— simple math, a rare thing in films, your welcome
good to see you here!
we are Lisa Purtscher and Lotta Schmelzer and we are LiseLotte Films. We started our production company in October 2023 and are currently located in Ludwigsburg, our favourite little film school town. We partnered up for several shortfilms in the past and now founded our own company to create films that make you rethink our modern society and tell stories from a new perspective. We are always up for new people, ideas and creativity in fictional feature films and series.
our first feature film BABYSTAR, a co-production with ZDF – Das kleine Fernsehspiel, premiered in 2025 at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival and will be released in German cinemas in April 2026. We are currently working on a documentary film in collaboration with SWR and NDR, as well as the feature film HYPERBABY by Romina Küper and our first series for RTL+, directed by Bernhard Strobel, titled GOOD LORD.

Anna Tzellou was born in Stuttgart with half her heart in Greece. She has been working as a production manager in the German film industry for several years, with credits including No Dogs Allowed (SchiSchiwagom), Babystar (LiseLotte Films, co-produced with ZDF – Das kleine Fernsehspiel, TIFF 2025), Oase / Oasis (Zeitgeist Filmproduktion) and Frieda – Kalter Krieg (Kurhaus Production) an impressive lineup of features that speaks for itself. Anna has a sharp eye for budgets and an even sharper instinct for keeping productions on track. She joined the LiseLotte team during Babystar and has been part of the family ever since.

Thiess grew up in a german-dutch household, but mainly in a Berlin-Kreuzberg household. He likes strawberries, looking closely (politically, personally and out of curiosity), hates wood-grain wallpaper and loves stories in any shape or form—especially creating them, contributing to them and coming together through them.
That’s why he put together a street-photography exhibition about being on the move, did the literary accompaniment for the play „ICH STEHE STILL und rühre mich“ (Theatre of Remembrance), is constantly writing, including a novel, works in the film world, and has directed, written, and produced four short films.
Nice things like that.

Franziska was born in 1996 in Tübingen, left for Hamburg to study Metropolitan Culture and work as a production assistant at Filmtank then the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg lured her back south. There she has been making fiction and documentary films ever since, and we are very glad she did. Her short Granica made the Live Action Student BAFTA shortlist in 2023, and Majini was nominated for the German Short Film Award in 2025. Her feature documentary Haus 4 traveled to Slamdance and DOK.fest München. Along the way she deepened her industry experience at Wild Bunch Germany and the Berlinale Co-Production Market. She is currently completing her studies at the Filmakademie with her diploma feature documentary Bärbel, a co-production with SWR and MFG. Franzi is joining LiseLotte as a producer right after. Perfect timing.
